The Turth as I See It

Grandma Parrish came down to visit us on Tuesday. We went to lunch and as we were leaving the restaurant Mark heard us talking about going to WalMart. He immediately piped in saying, "Mom I want to go get a toy." I said jokingly back to him, "Well, where is your money to get a toy." He replied, "In grandma's purse."

We woke up to 75 degree temperatures two days ago. It had rained the night before and it was a beautiful morning. I opened our patio door to let in some fresh air. Mark comes up beside me, pokes his head out the door and says, "Mom I need a coat. Its cold outside." I tried to tell him that he was fine that it was warmer outside than inside, but he needed his coat so he went a got it out of his closet. He wore it most of the morning. He's gonna freak if we ever get to move anywhere with snow.

In other news last weekend we painted some walls in our family room. I was very impressed with us. I prepped on Friday night, we painted Saturday morning and everything was done in time to have friends over for dinner on Saturday night. Mark very much enjoyed helping. Megan not so much.

More Summer Fun

We took the kids to the Bass Pro Shop just for fun. They had such a blast- more than I thought they would. We golfed a little bit and looked around at all the animals and the big fish tank.

The thing they liked best were all the boats. Mark loved getting on all of them. We had to "drive" all of them.

Here is a funky little shot of our Megan's rockin' hair. I will never get it to lay down nicely.

We had to pull out a lot of our garden because it is too hot now and everything was drying up. here is a look at our mini- corn. This was the biggest ear. In other backyard news we finally finished our block wall. As soon as the weather calms down a little bit we will smooth out the dirt and plant some more stuff.

We have been to Utah also since our last update, but just like always I took the camera and never got it out. We had a blast at our annual Buchanan Family Reunion. Its always so fun to see everyone and its amazing how fast all the kids grow up!

For the Fourth of July we hung out in Mesquite. We swam and watched fireworks and rode go carts and burned some sparklers and ate hamburgers. All the typical American things and a whole lot of fun.

I can't believe that its the middle of July already! Summer's always go so fast. We have a lot more fun to pack in before it ends.
