Do ya think were related?

Found these old pictures of me and Mike (I don't even know what shade of orange to call my hair!) You can sure tell that the kids are ours. I can't decide who looks more like who.

Little Megan

Pretty in Pink and all dressed up for a wedding. The bow was a fight- she doesn't really grove on stuff in her hair, but I guess that makes sense- she came from my gene pool.

Mom I need a life

Mark has never been really keen of the word knife. At first it was the f and n sounds that he just couldn't get so he would call it a light (substituing l for n and t for f). He has since mastered both sounds, but with this particular word he still refuses to say the n sound. So a knife in our house is actually a "life". This creates many funny conversations at the dinner table. "Mom, I need a life", "Dad can I have your life?" and "Uh-oh I dropped my life" are just a small sampling of the fun this little word mix up has created it.

My Thoughts Exactly

So we were cooking dinner today and making some cookies for Family Home Evening at the same time. While I was finishing up a brocolli salad thing Mark was manning the cookie counter. And by manning the counter I mean that he was eating the brown sugar, which is a favorite past time of his. Anyway, He turns to me and says, "Mom, I don't like salad. I just like sugar." Boy have I got my work cut out for me.

Milestones

Mark is Peeing in the toilet. I know its really not a polite subject to be talking about, but I deal in bodily fluids on a daily basis so indulge me for a moment. I am very proud to report that we today had our first full day of success. Considering that we started potty training on Monday we are pretty happy. You would be amazed at the number of wet underwares a kid can create in one day. I would post a cute picture, but Mark has become a little shy about being in front of other people without being fully clothed (who isn't?).
Our little Megan also got in the spirit of reaching milestones and decided to crawl. So far she only does it when she is mad and trying to get to you so that you will pick her up or at least do something to entertain her. Who said being stubborn didn't have its fine points? We have no idea where the strong will came from- I mean we don't know anybody like that in our family (wink wink).

Late Late Late Holiday Update

We had a great Christmas. Things are just returning to normal here. We had Randi and Mike in town the last couple of weeks in December. We spent Christmas at our house and the Parrish house in Mesquite. The Brey family (minus Devon) came to our home over the New Year weekend. Busy busy busy. The kids had so much fun.

This is our wonderful gingerbread man. When I remember how to post video I'll get more of our Christmas activities posted.

It snowed two days after the first storm and we got about four inches at our house. It was enough to make a snowman.

I coached Mark in the ancient art of snow balls. He did pretty well. The kid has quite an arm.

We enjoyed the post-snowplay hot chocolate.
