The Fountains

We spent an evening at the Bellagio. The kids liked the garden area inside. Mark insisted on being the one to push Megan in the stroller.
We have been to see the fountains before, but Mark was always scared by them. This time he loved them. We actually got to see two of the show. He kept asking if the water was an ocean and if there were whales in it.
Megan just loved the whole thing. She kept pointing at the water and looking at you as if to say "are you seeing this?" She even started dancing with the music.

Summers Here!

A small sampling of our recent activities. We made smores for dessert for one of our Family Nights. Yes we roasted them right on the stove- don't know if that complies with the local fire code, but it work pretty well.

Megan attended her first movie with Mark, Grandma Parrish and me. We saw Disney's Up. She was way into my Icee drink- I don't think I got any. She also managed to spread popcorn all over the place. Mark was happy as a clam with his own little tray. He got a little scared during the movie and he will tell you that he cried just a little bit, but he loved it.

We went to the Springs Preserve with a couple of friends from church. Mark loves this park because he gets to drive the train. He spent most of his time yelling at his friends that it was time to go the train was leaving.
All that playing is really hard work for the kids. We all were beat after the park.

So Megan, like I mentioned before, loves to climb. This is currently her favorite chair to climb on. She gets in and out of it all the time. She also will put anything up to her ear and say "Hi" as if it is a phone. These pictures were taken as we were getting ready for church. I love this dress- girls are so much fun to dress up.

Another Markism that I keep forgetting to write down is one he says almost evertime we are in a parking lot. Looking at one of the many cracks in the road he says, "Hey, look the road is on crooked." Here he is in Mike's shoes.

Pictures

Mark is the funniest three year old I have ever met. He is energetic and loves to "go to school". He is learning a ton just doing our little home preschool program. He loves wrestling with Dad and any form of tickling. He is 90% potty trained. His best friend is Lydia whom we have been informed he is going to marry.
Some of his latest quotes:
*Getting ready for church- Mark- "Daddy you have hairs on you belly. Should we count them?"
*I often smack Mike when he says something clever. Mark hit Mike the other day when they were messing around. I told Mark that he could lightly smack daddy when he is funny, but only on the shoulder. Mark, while lightly touching Mike, "Daddy you are funny on your shoulder."
*Whenever I veto anything or tell him no Mark comes back with "Oh, sure ya do" or "Oh, sure we can ". I hear this at least ten times a day.
Megan can now say Uh-oh, Hi and Wow. She climbs on absolutely everything. The grocery store cart has become her personal nemesis and mine as well. She wont stay in her seat and at most it takes her 60 seconds to wiggle out of the safety strap. She is our resident Houdini when is comes to getting out of restraining devices. The kitchen chairs are her latest conquest. She can walk but doesn't most of the time. She prefers to crawl- really fast. Mark is the only one that can make her laugh really hard and cry really hard. She gives the absolute cutest kisses in the world. She loves being in the middle of Mike and Mark's wrestling matches. She will get dirtier than Mark any day. Her fine motor coordination is amazingly advanced- she can pick up the puniest of objects and put it in her mouth. She'll pick up any phone and put it to her ear and say "Hi".
Between the two of them life is pretty interesting to say the least.

Green Thumb?

So this is the second attempt at a Vegas garden. The first one literally went the way of the Do Do -or pigeon in our case- when I was huge pregnant with Megan last year. This year it has done a little better. Our peach tree gave us about 30 peaches. We have gotten about five strawberries, but the bottoms are always eaten off by the time we get to them. Two tomatoes are waiting to be picked and our Basil is doing quite well. We also have beautiful bean plants, but absolutely no beans and I am beginning to wonder if whatever eats the strawberries is getting to the beans as well. Our corn is cute at three feet, but I don't think we will get any produce from it. We are giving away lettuce to anyone who wants it. Its been pretty fun to see it grow. Mark loves watering it and "making rivers".
