Big (but not so great) News

So the big news today is that Mike got laid off. That's right we are without a job. Surprisingly we are doing okay with the whole situation. Mike is almost finished updating his resume and we have heard of multiple opportunities around the Las Vegas area. I never thought I would be rooting for us to stay in this area, but we have really come to like our little corner of Vegas. We have made some really good friends and have put a lot of love into our home. Not to mention the fact that selling the house would be a major uphill battle. However, we are open to any possibilities- a job is a job when you have two kids in diapers. If anyone hears of anything good let us know, We'll keep this updated with how things are going. One good thing about this whole situation is that it helps remind you of what is really important in your life and we still have the cutest kids- EVER.

Mark has been asking all day to see grandma and grandpa. We saw them on the web cam on Sunday and he realized that they were going to come visit. He doesn't really understand how far away this weekend is, so he keeps assuming they will walk in the door at any minute. These pictures were the best substitute I could come up with and I thought I would share them with everyone- I am sure my parents will be thrilled. Even if they don't like how they look in these pictures (and there will be complaints I'm sure), Mark loves looking at them because they are his grandma and grandpa and he doesn't care how they look.

I keep finding the funniest photos of Mark. This one was taken in March or April. It was probably seven in the morning and still relatively chilly outside. Mark wanted to go outside anyway. I told him that he could go out on the deck, but he would probably get cold. He wouldn't go outside without his shoes and socks on (he is well taught). However, the sneakers were hiding from us so we went with the back up sandals (he was born in Utah!). He walked out, came right back in and requested a hat. Much to my surprise he picked this one over his baseball cap. So we ended up with Mark in sandals and socks, a snow hat and his dinosaur pajamas- grrr!

Gee, its been a month since I put those last pictures up. Time seems to fly by lately. We have had a lot of company lately. Megan and Mark are just too hard to stay away from. We have had so much fun. However, the blog suffers from neglect because of it.


In honor of Father's Day here is a cute picture of the Dad at our house doing his daddy duty. Unfortunately he didn't get the biggest celebration in his honor because we had two sick kids all week. Megan got a cold on Monday. Mark probably had it too, but he didn't complain until Tuesday when he got a very high fever. We played a lot of blocks (hence Mark and his tower) and watched way too many movies while they recovered. They are both doing better now, and I think we will try to redo Father's Day this Sunday.

New Addition

We want to welcome the newest addition to our family: Megan Elisabeth. She was born at 6:09 PM on May 8, 2008, weighing 8 lbs exactly being 20 inches long. More pictures and info to follow.
